Reporting to the Vice President, Quality, the Mechanics & Propulsion Quality Manager is responsible for implementing the quality aspects of procurement process for the Ariane, Soyuz and Vega rockets in the area of Mechanics & Propulsion. In particular, you will be responsible for: • Making sure that these processes are correctly applied. • Checking and approving quality-related documents issued by Arianespace. • Participating in, or being represented at the key acceptance reviews carried out with the manufacturers, and analysis of the resulting documents. • Participating in checking the quality of the mission analysis, flight program and upper composite components during the different control reviews, including those for the launch campaign. • Checking, in conjunction with configuration management, that all waivers and alerts have been completely processed. • Leading, or being represented as leader on equipment and anomaly review boards.
You will liaise with quality representatives of launcher primes, and with the compliance control managers for CNES, concerning Mechanics & Propulsion quality aspects. You will support the process manager at the Quality Division in his or her mission of improving and adapting management processes to the launcher family. You will participate in the improvement process by overseeing inquiries and audits and analyzing their results, the anomalies that may arise, and the applicability of the launcher procurement process.
During launch campaigns you will act as production Launcher Quality Manager. Within the scope of this position, based on in-house Arianespace quality activities and technical and compliance recommendations by CNES, you will certify, in conjunction with the Launch Campaign Quality Manager, the compliance of the launcher, the upper composite, mission analysis and flight program for the launch. |

You should have a degree from an engineering school or equivalent European university, and about ten years of experience, including at least five in the space industry. You should be familiar with the Ariane 5 launcher “mechanics” and “propulsion” system, as well as being able to acquire this knowledge for the Soyuz and Vega launchers. You should be rigorous, methodical and able to work in a team. You should also have the ability to communicate and explain Quality methods, and to make sure they are applied effectively. Due to our international operations and clientele, you must have very good working knowledge of both French and English. A working knowledge of Russian would be an advantage, but is not required. |
