The mid range server architect guarantees viability and suitability of the existing infrastructure architecture and its continuing development. He also guarantees that IT architecture is pertinent and consistent with IS architecture, IS and IT strategy and market trends. Lastly, he optimizes the cost effectiveness of the IT assets
1. Follows the market evolutions : Ensure appropriate interaction with suppliers and consultants to get information to be able to do this technology watch.
2. Defines and manages the IT technical architecture referential, set technical standards for solutions produced, explore and evaluate new solutions, provides technical advices to other IS and IT departements.
3. Defines technical strategy and roadmap to achieves alignment with IS architecture and with business objectives when they have a direct impact on infrastructure
4. Provides detailed specifications for selecting and organizing components to implement and maintain IT solutions.
5. Ensures that any IS and IT projects and existing assets comply with IT architecture prescriptions
6. Review and negociate technical aspects of any infrastructure outsourcing contract or infrastructure part of any outsourcing contract and ensure that cost vs SLA is in the third tier of the market
7. Act as 4th level support for operation : Participates to resolution of very complex problems |

Responsibilities and activities described below are to be performed within technical expertise scope, i.e. mainly midrange servers. High level technical expertise on AIX, VMS, Windows, VMWARE, Virtualization is required. However, candidates must have general knowledge of overall infrastructure scope (networks, workstation, etc..)
Bilingual English-French is required. Experience in out-sourcing will be taken into account.
More than 10 years of experience in similar job are required. |
