Amazon is looking for a Control Buyer. This position is responsible for optimizing the supply chain and automating the inventory planning function. The successful candidate must possess the ability to operate from a company-wide scalable perspective and encourage cross-functional and cross-business project development and to be flexible and assist in cross product line functions if necessary.
Responsibilities:
Manage short-term procurement and receipt processes for a set of products/vendors
Drive vendor and internal projects to reduce procurement to receipt lead-times (EDI, inbound defects, etc.
Manage & develop deliveries forecasts and open-to-buy budgets
Manage inventory by ensuring efficient inventory flows (including the forecasting, purchasing, Inventory Health and Turns).
Work with various internal teams to help drive tools and process improvements that affect purchasing and vendor management workflows (Leadtimes, Forecasts, Procurement)
Troubleshoot and drive resolution for systemic issues that preclude margin or operational enhancement |

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in a Supply Chain / Operations discipline with 3-5 years of a combination of operations/supply chain project, management, inventory planning, and/or IT project management.
The person must be highly organized, self-starting, and comfortable using a variety of computer programs such as Excel or Access.
The successful candidate must be flexible, possess good written and oral communication skills, be team oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines while working on several projects simultaneously.
The preferred candidate will have an intermediate ability in SQL, a strong math background, experience working with IT professionals, and process improvement training like Kaizen or Six Sigma. |
