Program Directorate, Launcher Production Division, Propulsion Department. The Propulsion Department is in charge of propulsion systems using liquid or solid propellants, as well as pyrotechnic systems, on the Arianespace launcher family (Ariane, Soyuz, Vega). Through its coordination of launcher production, the Propulsion Department is responsible for timely procurement, configuration stability, and maintaining the technical reliability of the aforementioned elements. It also oversees final operation at the launch site in Kourou, French Guiana. The department is expanding its solid propulsion team because of the upcoming first launch of Vega, and the increased launch rate of Ariane.
Reporting to the Department manager, you will be responsible for the following: Participating, along with the Department team, in monitoring the production of the solid boosters (EAP) and MPS solid rocket motors for the Ariane launcher. To do this, you will: • As technical authority, ensure the acceptability of the equipment under your responsibility (configuration compliance, validation of the handling of nonconformities, presentation of this equipment during various reviews). You will be present at key points for the stage, and also participate in launcher technical assessment reviews (BT). • Take an active role in handling technical incidents for the solid boosters and motors (monitoring of production anomalies, waivers, anomalies in flight). • Participate in Ariane launch campaigns as solid booster technical authority (launcher acceptance on leaving Launcher Integration Building), Final Assembly Building phase, launch, reporting to the Ariane Production Project Manager (CPAP). • Following the launch, you will coordinate activities by the solid booster level 0 operating group, and will present this group’s report to the management committee.
You will gradually take responsibility for activities concerning the solid rocket motors for the Vega launcher (P80, Z23, Z9), by carrying out the following tasks: • Initially, you will ensure the Department’s support for the Arianespace Project Manager and the development authority. You will also take an active role in the various reviews throughout the development program, up to final qualification. • In preparation for the upcoming operational phase, you will gradually set up the production monitoring structure for these solid rocket motors (definition of key points, structure and content of production documents, etc.). • Subsequently, you will oversee production of the aforementioned solid rocket motors (management of configuration changes, analysis and acceptance of significant technical incidents, waivers, presentation of the flightworthiness of equipment under your responsibility, etc.), in conjunction with the manufacturer and the design authority. • You will participate in Vega launch campaigns as Technical Authority (acceptance of launcher at end of integration, launch), reporting to the Ariane Production Project Manager.
Following the launch, you will coordinate activities of the level 0 operating group, summarizing these activities for the management committee. You will also be in charge of handling the corresponding level 1 anomalies. |
