The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is looking for an experienced Webmaster to review, develop and maintain its website with the objective of maximising the visibility and impact of the Agency’s work in a wide range of governmental, scientific and academic circles. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Head of Publications and the Head of the Central Secretariat, External Relations and Public Affairs at the NEA. 1. Editorial (mainly in English) and technical web-based tasks • Undertake, in consultation with the section’s supervisors, the periodic review (from the editorial, graphic and technical perspectives using appropriate forms of analysis) of the Agency’s Internet communications and online marketing strategies, and ensure implementation of the agreed changes. • Ensure the coherency and user-friendliness of the web pages in terms of content, presentation and style, editing as necessary under the scientific supervision of the author divisions, and make sure that all pages are regularly updated. • Liaise with author divisions in order to obtain input for the public web pages and the Agency’s monthly news bulletin, adapt or write texts for the website as per requests from the supervisors and ensure that the proper quality-control procedures for content have been followed. Prepare HTML and PDF files as necessary. • Ensure the editorial and technical preparation and dissemination of the Agency’s monthly news bulletin in HTML format as well as the quarterly in-house newsletter.
2. Technical and administrative web-based tasks • Ensure the electronic dissemination of press releases and review of subsequent press coverage. • Participate in the maintenance and further development of the Agency’s password-protected extranet pages, its intranet and other websites/pages for which the NEA is responsible. • Manage requests for information arriving in the Agency’s electronic mailbox. • Follow new developments in Internet technology, presentation standards and publishing norms in order to optimise the NEA site, make proposals for periodically modernising it and troubleshoot any difficulties encountered.
3. Other tasks • Perform other web-related and communications tasks as necessary. |

1. Education and experience • University degree in communications or related field. • Confirmed experience in the development and maintenance of websites, preferably in a scientific or publishing environment. • Excellent knowledge of HTML and XML, and software used for websites (notably Dreamweaver, Contribute and Acrobat). Knowledge of software used for graphic design and/or programming language an advantage. • Knowledge of energy issues and/or nuclear energy would be considered an advantage. 2. Key competencies • Very good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to establish effective and harmonious working relations, notably with scientists and computer specialists. • Very good organisational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritise work among several competing projects underway and to work to deadline. • Ability to work with minimum supervision, using sense of initiative, and also as a member of a team, developing synergies as appropriate.
3. OECD official languages and writing skills • Excellent communications skills, including experience with drafting and editing web content. • Excellent knowledge (oral and written) of English. Very good proficiency of French. |
